World-leading technology deserves a brand to match.

IES makes the software that architects, engineers, and planners use to design energy-efficient, zero-carbon buildings. Their technology sets the standard. Their ambition is global. But their visual identity wasn't reflecting either. They needed a brand with the confidence and coherence to match their reputation, one that could flex across every channel, every market, and every conversation they needed to have.

What we did

We started with a visual identity refresh, then kept going. The creative concept came directly from IES’s own product logic: the Virtual Environment, the simulation space at the core of their flagship IESVE software, where buildings are modelled and analysed for energy performance. We evolved the square-framed logo into a dynamic grid framework, a visual language built around data, precision, and clarity. Buildings emerge through the grid as if sharpening into focus, from simulation to reality.

From there, the brief grew as the relationship did. At its widest, our work covered everything IES puts in front of the world: hero brand imagery, campaign creative for their Race to Zero Energy Buildings initiative, animated social templates, YouTube and long-form video assets, print brochures, exhibition stands, and product visuals for IESVE. One visual language, every channel.

The outcome

A brand system that holds together across every touchpoint, and that IES’s internal team can operate confidently and consistently. A creative language authoritative enough to sit alongside their technology. And a working relationship that has deepened across four phases of work, built on clarity, straight communication, and genuine shared ambition.
